Colombia is recognized as a global leader in water resources, historically ranking third globally for its water abundance. However, the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 marked a turning point as water supplies began to dwindle, largely due to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon. In the capital city of Bogotá, the water crisis has escalated to the point where drinking water is now being rationed.
